Senora May's sophomore album consists of eight original love songs, recorded by Kenny Miles at Fat Baby Studios in Whitesburg, KY, mixed by David Beeman at Native Sound in St. Louis, MO, mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering in Los Angeles, CA, and produced by the lovely, Jessica Lea Mayfield.
Not only did Jessica play baritone guitar on the song Colors, she lended her angelic vocals on Naturally, Colors and Lookin' for a Fight. She also helped re-write one of the songs, slowing the timing way down, rearranging and editing lyrics to fit the feel of the sound to the narrative of the words. This gained her song writing credit on Lookin' for a Fight, a twangy lulling tune about fighting with a lover in an attempt to gain more attention, affectionately issuing careless threats while seeped in drunken quarrel introspection.
Following a difficult year of no live music, an international pandemic, political unrest, racial injustice, protests, riots, and hate filled rhetoric sputtered from every angle, the announcement of this project is greeted with much anticipation. With the stellar roster of regionally local artists, this album is sure to exceed expectations and warm the most neglected hearts during these coldest, darkest hours. In a resolute attempt to console, Senora May stands on the highest hill above the lushest holler and sings out in her soft voice, "All of my love's for you. Come on,...let me have yours too."
